Raising in Free online poker

Whenever a semi bluff is called there is good chance that you might get a free card in the next round. But if you are someone who is considering to raise especially to get a free card you must keep in mind the two things:

1. Your position in the game
2. The cost which you will have to pay for the raise in terms of the final result.

In order to get a free card you must be the last person to play, otherwise in case you are the last to play and you have a check your weakness might well exposed. One of your opponents who is to play after you, with a better hand, will go for the bet in all probability there by deny you the chance of a free card. You can be sure when you would play in games in which position if fixed but that might not be the case in the games of poker in which you will not sure if you are the last, as the position or the order of playing would change after every round at the least. If you take the case of the game “Seven Stud” a player sitting next you might have higher kind card to start the betting in the 1st round but in the very next it might be you who start the betting as might have an Ace. This will cause to lead which you might not want to do if you are ever hoping and praying for a free card.

When you are thinking about raising in order to acquire a free card the free card would never come free of cost, you would have to incur a cost for the free card. It will come at the cost of the value of your raise. So as long as you don not have any reasons for the rise you would have to wait for cost for the raise to get cheaper in the next round of the game.

So it is better to follow certain best practices before consider raising in a game of poker. Here are those reasons.

1. Raise when you have made sure that you have the best hand in the game at that moment and then go for the raise to earn more money form the whole pot.
2. You can raise when you know 100 % that you have the best hand and you want to drive all your opposite numbers off from the game.
3. Raise to when you have gone for a pure bluff or a semi buff. More so in the case of Semi bluff because you have reasonable chance of becoming the best hand in the game so you might have successful raise.
4. As we have seen earlier in this article; raise to get free card
5. Raise to gain information
6. Try and drive the worst hands in the game when your own hand is only in the second best position
7. Also raise to make sure the better hands are driven for you to become the best hand.
